Hold the fish under water in a swimming position, carefully holding it around the middle or in front of the tail fin. When the fish starts to swim, simply let go and the fish will swim away. If the fish seems exhausted, it might be necessary to try to revive it before releasing it back into the wild. Support the fish under water, facing upstream. Then, gently move the fish back and forth to supply oxygen to the gills. When the fish becomes active, release your hold and let the renewed fish swim away.
